Co-owners of PMI Palmetto, Nathan and Sharon Chapman, we began our real estate investing career in 1996 with a single, residential property. We entered into it with mixed emotions and quickly learned that this was something we wanted to pursue. We purchased several more properties over the next few years (including one new build condo in Myrtle Beach) and decided we should acquire our real estate sales licenses so we could further enjoy the commissions that come with each purchase.
In the early years, we performed much of the maintenance and learned what was needed to properly protect the assets. We enjoyed helping friends and family with real estate transactions and even helped others interested in real estate investing understand the process and shared our knowledge that might help them with their future ventures.

I was born in Spartanburg, SC and have remained a native of the state. Growing up, our family relocated a couple of times due to my mother’s employment with Bellsouth. And this ultimately brought us to Chapin, SC in 1981.
I was raised with the core values of honesty, integrity, loyalty and compassion – which have been engrained in my business and personal relationships throughout the years.
I have enjoyed exposure to various organizations in my professional career. Some of which include being the Director of Operations for Gold’s Gym (franchise with 4 locations at the time), Project Manager for FD Group (health & fitness flooring and fixtures company) and Director of Property Management with U.S. Properties Group, Inc. – a commercial retail manager of privately owned shopping centers.
During my time with Gold’s Gym, I learned much about commercial construction and managed several build outs and renovations. This carried over to my role with U.S. Properties Group where I continued to use that knowledge and apply it to multiple build outs for tenants, space demising, redevelopment and large capital improvement projects. This was in addition to managing approximately 4 million square feet of retail and restaurant space over a dozen states from Georgia to Michigan.
I began my licensed real estate journey in 2004 and am now a SC licensed broker acting as the Broker In Charge for PMI Palmetto. I am also a member of the following organizations:
- ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers)
- IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management)
- NAR (National Association of Realtors)
- NARPM (National Association of Residential Property Managers)
I have acquired my CPM (Certified Property Manager) accreditation and my CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) accreditation. I believe it is vital to always seek more knowledge and build strong relationships that serve the needs of the business I strive to promote and protect.
Supplemental to my vast experience in residential and commercial property management, I also enjoy being a board member for Carolina Sunshine for Children, that grants wishes to children with life threatening conditions. I also enjoy time with family and friends and especially, boating on Lake Murray (or any body of water).
Raised in the Palmetto state – I have always had an interest in real estate. My desire to learn about this arena dates back to high school where I first began reading about investment property and even attending foreclosure court to gain more knowledge and exposure.
I am a Cum Laude graduate of the University of South Carolina where I received a double business major in marketing and management. After graduation, I developed and grew my career in sales and sales management and enjoyed building relationships with my customers towards a common goal of success and profitability. My organizational skills and networking abilities allowed me to grow into other sales roles through the years.
My sales career began in retail sales for Makita Power Tools where I covered the southeast working with Lowe’s, Home Depot and other big box home improvement retailers. This was a fantastic fit due to my hands-on skillset and time spent in home improvement on both our own home and rental properties.
Another position I held was as a Regional Sales Manager for MASCO covering a territory from SC to Maine. MASCO is the parent company of brands that include Delta Faucet, Behr Paint, Kraftmaid Cabinets and many others. Again, serving Lowe’s and continuing to grow those relationships while representing a variety of household products. I then moved onto being a Business Development Manager with National Nail and onto Sales Manager with Agnew Lake Services where we help property owners with their docks, piers, boat lifts, etc on beautiful Lake Murray.
I became a licensed real estate agent in 2007 and am now a licensed broker.
When I am not managing investment properties, I enjoy spending time with friends on the water, living life as an avid boater and lover of water.
